Repairs and warranty
What we cover, for how long, and what voids it. These are the same terms we hand over in the shop.
Console sales
One year warranty on all console sales.
90-day warranty
Included with all repair work, games and controllers.
We warrant our workmanship, the parts used in our repairs, and the products we sell against defects when used under normal conditions, for 90 days from the date the repair was completed or the product was purchased.
The warranty is non-transferable. It is void if the item is misused, altered or tampered with, or if anyone other than a Retro & Rare team member has previously attempted or subsequently attempts to repair the item.
All of our console repairs, and all consoles sold through retroandrarevideogames.com, carry a warranty sticker that must stay intact for a warranty claim to be honored. If an item does not have a sticker, we take it in good faith that the criteria above have been met. We photograph all of our work, and in most cases can establish whether an item has been tampered with.
Limited lifetime warranty
Covers the specific repair that was performed, and is available on all console repairs.
It does not cover:
- Modified consoles, or consoles altered from factory specification. If your console falls into this category we would still rather you asked us, and in most cases we will deal with the issue.
- Controller repairs.
- Damage from physical abuse, intentional neglect, water, insect infestation, or third-party accessories.
- Failure within a component’s reasonable expected lifespan, or any factor other than normal use.
Returning for further work
Consoles that have had repair work done, are outside the 90-day window, still have an intact warranty sticker and are owned by the same customer get 25% off any future work, including refurbishment, cleaning and restoration.
